They thrive on the Division of Africa
Julius Malema, the audacious champion of South Africa's opposition renowned for his razor-sharp wit and fearless demeanour has once more ignited curiosity with his latest intriguing remarks.
This time, his bold statements were about the deep-rooted connections between Europe's prosperity and Africa's historical divisions. In a series of press interviews commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Economic Freedom Fighters movement in South Africa, Julius Malema shed light on how Europe gains from Africa's division.
According to his perspective, uniting Africa and pooling its vast resources could potentially hold the power to shake the very foundations of the dollar. His firm belief lies in the vision of a united Africa, where a common currency fosters cohesion and barriers are dismantled to enable the seamless movement of people and goods.
Pan-Africanist leaders such as Kwame Nkrumah and PLO Lumumba have consistently criticized the artificial division of Africa imposed by European colonial powers, as highlighted by Julius Malema.
They argue that these borders, established at the Berlin Conference, serve as barriers to Africa's development and perpetuate the exploitation of its resources by external forces.
As such, it is clear that there is an urgent need for African nations to denounce their colonial borders and strive for unity and solidarity. By forming a united continent, Africa can challenge the structures that benefited Europe at its expense and establish itself as a global powerhouse, leveraging its vast resources, diverse cultures, and collective strength to achieve self-determination and economic prosperity.
